Debit Card Benefits & Features

How to Make the Most out of Your Debit Card

Your debit card may be a part of your everyday life. One of the best things about having a Security First Bank debit card is managing your bank account in one place. However, there are a number of other benefits that protect you and make your life easier.

You already know that debit cards are a convenient way to pay for almost anything. A Security First Bank debit card can be used at thousands of stores and ATMs nationwide and are available for any personal, business or health savings account.

Of course, they’re safer than carrying cash, easier than writing a check, and help you monitor your account with real-time transaction posting.

What are the features that make Security First Bank debit cards so powerful?

Extra Protection for Your Card with SecurLOCK Equip App

When you download the SecurLOCK Equip application from the App Store or Google Play, you can set up controls on how your card can be used and get immediate notifications on use. This is a great feature, for example, for your child’s account or a business account with restricted uses.

And if you don’t consider yourself particularly tech savvy, a Security First banker, is always happy to help you set up the app. Just call 844-277-8860.

Online Peace of Mind Through MasterCard SecureCode

You can further protect yourself by creating your online MasterCard SecureCode. This protects your account from unauthorized online purchases, giving you peace of mind.

How does it work? Every time you attempt an online purchase, a one-time-password is created and texted to your phone. Use that one-time password to complete your purchase and you’re done. A unique one-time-password is created for every purchase, giving you an extra layer of protection.

Pay With Your Phone, Hands Free

You can have one less thing to carry around and a lot more contactless transactions.

The Security First Bank MasterCard Debit Card works at any store that accepts mobile payments. With a quick tap of your device, pay safely and securely.

The card is enabled for ApplePay, GooglePay and SamsungPay. And as always, a Security First Bank team member would be happy to help you set it up.

Send Money to Friends With Zelle®

Want to split that lunch check with a friend? Or send a little something extra to that son or daughter in college? Zelle makes it convenient. It’s fast, safe and easy and you can enroll right in the Security First Bank app.

You can send money, request money and split bills — all within minutes. The person on the other end doesn’t have to be a Security First Banking customer, they just have to have a bank account in the United States and a U.S. mobile phone number.

A Debit Card Should be a Little Fun, Too

Let’s face it. Nobody loves to make payments, but a debit card is just a regular part of life. So if you’re going to pull out your debit card, it might as well reflect your personality. Security First Bank can customize your debit card to reflect your school mascot in several of the communities we serve. Show a little team spirit and have all the functions of a powerful debit card too.

And should you happen to lose your card, call these numbers immediately: 877-747-3139 and Fraud Alert Verification: 855-961-1602. Be sure to mention it is a Security First Bank/South Dakota issued card to expedite the process.

To further make life more convenient, many of our branches have the ability to issue a new card on-site at the bank. No more waiting for the mail to arrive.
