Security First Bank, through their branch locations in Cody, Valentine and Merriman, recently presented a check for $10,000 to Cherry County School District 30, which the district used to help complete the new gymnasium floor at Cody-Kilgore High School.

Tom Cooper, branch president in Valentine, said, “We were more than happy to make this investment in improving the school gym. This area has been good to Security First, and we’re glad to give back in a way that’s meaningful to the community.”

The new gym features a modern, natural wood finish with the school’s Cowboys emblem “branded” onto center court in a darker stain and black paint. Updates also included the addition of two auxiliary volleyball courts for enhanced practice time and floor advertising by donors and sponsors, including Security First Bank and Cody’s local Circle C Market, the student entrepreneurial grocery store.

Superintendent Adam Lambert said, “The new floor is another outstanding addition to our already great school and its programs. Our students and community are going to be very proud of the facelift made possible by the generous support we have received. We sincerely appreciate the amount of support we have here for our students.”

The first volleyball game on the new gym floor will be played on September 2nd at 3:30pm.
