Security First Bank Expands with New Spearfish Branch

Security First Bank has officially begun construction on its new Spearfish branch, marking an exciting expansion into the Northern Black Hills. Located at 2405 E Colorado Boulevard, the new building represents a significant milestone in the bank’s continued investment in the region and commitment to community banking.

The 6,200-square-foot facility was designed by Uda Architecture + Design and is being constructed by McGough Construction, with a projected completion date of May 2026.

Once complete, the Spearfish branch will allow Security First Bank to offer full-service banking to individuals, businesses, and agricultural customers throughout the Spearfish area. Services will include personal and business banking, consumer, commercial, and mortgage lending, and financial solutions tailored to the unique needs of the region.

A formal groundbreaking ceremony was held in April 2025, with community members, local leaders, and project partners in attendance.

“This is an exciting step forward for Security First Bank and for the Spearfish community,” said Brent Russ, Spearfish Branch President. “We’re not only expanding our presence—we’re doing so in a way that reflects our values: providing outstanding service, building strong relationships, and investing in a sustainable future. This new facility will allow us to better serve our customers and deepen our roots in the Northern Black Hills region.”
