Banzai! Financial Education

Banzai! Financial Education

Security First Bank is working with Banzai, a national award-winning financial literacy program, to make their curriculum available to everyone, anywhere, at no charge.

Banzai is a web-based financial literacy program that provides personal financial education courses, including pre- and post-tests, as well as a vast library of articles on topics ranging from taxes to buying a home to insurance. It has become the largest program of its kind, providing more than 45,000 school teachers with classroom curriculum, as well as online content that is available to anyone with Internet access.

Three course levels are available: Banzai Junior for 8 – 12 year olds, Banzai Teen for teenagers and Banzai Plus for adults.  Users are exposed to real-life scenarios where they learn to pay bills and balance a budget – but it’s not always easy. They must learn to manage unexpected expenses, interest charges, overdraft fees, and maintain a good credit score.

Library articles are appropriate for teens and adults, and readers are conveniently informed how long they can expect to spend reading each article.  Most are 4- to 10-minute reads.  Almost all articles contain links to additional information resources and financial planning tools.  In particular, the Buying a House section offers some of the best mortgage-related calculators and corresponding graphics found anywhere.

Security First Bank has added a Financial Education page to our website at securityfirstb.local/financial-education, and customers and non-customers alike are welcome to access the content available there. We hope you’ll take advantage of this free resource!
